No…No…Notorious… (Listen to this, and you’ll know what I mean)
That was playing in our heads when we saw The Notorious P.I.G. on the menu at Walrus + Carpenter, a fine BBQ joint in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, CT. The Notorious P.I.G. is a three course meal that can fill the bellies of four people. Priced at $128, it’s an awesome deal.
So what does it look like?
1st course
You could almost get full off the first course, which includes fresh oysters on the half shell served over ice with lemon wedges, poutine (fries topped with mozzarella curds and a savory gravy), house-made Andouille sausage, and maple pork belly. Ah, the pork belly, think of it as a big, thick slice of sweet and savory bacon.

2nd course
Get ready for a whole lotta meat. Served on a silver platter (Just kidding, it’s served on a tray) are baby backs, spare ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, mac + cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, cheddar grits (for brunch, you might get mashed potatoes). Tender, flavorful meat. Juicy brisket. Delicious pulled pork. You won’t be disappointed with this course.

3rd course
Hopefully you still got room in your belly for these fantastic desserts – chipwich and cinnamon bread pudding. The chipwich is an ice cream sandwich made with bacon chocolate cookies. See the bacon below? Even if you don’t get the Notorious, make sure you get the chipwich.

The cinnamon bread pudding is another great dessert. Sweet, moist, delicious. Tough to say which one we liked better. Hmm…maybe I’ll say the chipwich cuz it has bacon.

Though we’ve only dined here once, we were very satisfied with the food and service, not to mention the big selection of beer they have. They’ve got about a dozen beers on draft sold by the glass or growler, as well as beer in a bottle or can.
