Bayong Ni Maria Sells Modern Bayongs in CT

If you’re following me on Instagram, you may have noticed some posts about my new bag called a bayong. The “bayong” I’ve been using is a modern interpretation of a traditional bayong and can be used as a fashion tote bag, grocery bag, beach bag, or picnic bag.

Historically, the Bayong is usually used by Filipinos when going to the wet market for whole week stocks of meat and vegetables, which was considered as the “eco-bag.” These lifetime-guaranteed bags were indeed 100% washable, tear and scratch resistant, expandable but always spring back to shape. The older your bayong is the seasoned and strengthened they were.

Bayong Ni Maria’s owner is based here in CT. Her bayongs come in a variety of colors and styles and are made with a durable material – polypropylene. Each bag is handwoven carefully, ensuring durability and quality. The weavers of this bags are mostly stay-at-home moms from her village back home in the Philippines.
