SEUncorked Brings New American “Snacks & Taps” to Downtown New Canaan

SEUncorked is the newest addition to downtown New Canaan located at 15 Elm Street. Chef/Owner, Nick Martschenko, expands his restaurant portfolio by proudly presenting the opening of SEUncorked, the younger and sassier sibling to his current culinary hot-spot, South End Restaurant. SEUncorked, a New American restaurant, is the place to eat, drink and socialize. With quality and passion always a priority, Martschenko builds on his expertise offering fresh, locally sourced, organic ingredients and creating unique small plates and entrees in a relaxed, laid-back and fun locale. Craft beers, water and wine will be available on tap as well as a superior, craft cocktail menu highlighting classic cocktails prepared with a SEUncorked twist. Another unique offering is an extensive “shot” program where guests may pick their poison by the ounce. Stylishly designed with a warm and casual vibe, SEUncorked seats 50 people and provides the perfect environment to eat, imbibe and socialize. Whether you’re looking for an affordable yet cool downtown restaurant to take your date, a warm, inviting space to socialize with friends, or an unpretentious after-work happy hour spot, SEUncorked has something for everyone. An outdoor patio provides additional space to enjoy snacks and taps and special events for fine-weather days.

“We are very thankful and proud to be a part of the New Canaan community,” says Chef Nick Martshenko. “This community has been incredibly supportive and that’s clearly evident due to the success of South End Restaurant. I’ve got a great team and we are so excited to introduce this new concept to downtown New Canaan.”

A Culinary Institute of America graduate, Chef Martshenko began his career with two-time James Beard Award-winner Melissa Kelly at the Old Chatham Sheepherding Company Inn and Restaurant in upstate New York and Primo in Rockland, Maine, and worked up to executive sous chef with chef-owner To Colicchio at Gramercy Tavern in New York City, among notable posts, before pouring his heart into his own restaurant, South End, in downtown New Canaan. Martshenko’s food is approachable, flavor-filled, and inspired by farmers and producers in the area. He and his team are focused on serving up seasonal comfort food and creative libations in a relaxing environment. The South End philosophy is simple: create foods that are uncomplicated, seasonal and flavorful.
