Sunday Brunch at Table 104 in Stamford, CT

Gotta love Brunch. A little bit of breakfast, a little bit of lunch, and more than a little bit of booze. It’s become more of a regular thing for us now, especially with a little diner. So when we were invited to try the new brunch menu at Table 104 Osteria & Bar, we knew we couldn’t pass that up.

Located on Long Ridge Road in Stamford, Table 104 Osteria & Bar offers fresh, cooked from the heart comfort food which gets many of its cues from classic American and Italian fare. The brunch menu features Italian classics, like meatballs and pasta dishes, and typical brunch items with an Italian twist.

Table 104

Table 104 has a delicious Mango Bellini worth trying. I’m more of a Bloody Mary gal, so I sipped on that while my eyes feasted on the first course that arrived at our table – Meatballs, Arancini Bolognese, and Grilled Mint Shrimp. I couldn’t get enough of the grilled shrimp – I probably had two plates of it. It was light and full of fantastic flavors.

The next set of dishes were classified as the “Egg Portion of Brunch.” Pizza lovers, try the Pizza All’Uovo, a thin crust pizza topped with salsa verde, bacon, and eggs. I enjoyed the earthy Egg White Frittata with herbed mushrooms, goat cheese, and brussels sprouts, but my favorite was the 104 Sausage Egg (aka Scotch egg) –  a soft boiled egg that is crusted with sausage and panko, then deep fried, and topped with hollandaise. I felt guilty eating it, but it was so delicious, I couldn’t resist.

Not having much space left in my belly, we sampled three entrees – Flatiron steak, grilled octopus, and lemon ricotta pancake. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the chimchurri added a nice touch of flavor. The octopus was tender and delicious. The pancake was my favorite of the three. Buttery and fluffy, like pancakes should be, and drizzled with some Canadian maple syrup – it was perfect.

Brunch isn’t complete without a dessert. Table 104 has a fantastic Hazelnut Tiramisu and a variety of gelato and sorbet. Now, that Hazelnut Tiramisu is the best I’ve had. Bailey’s Irish Creme and Frangelico give it a kick, but the taste is so smooth, you wouldn’t notice the alcohol.

Table 104 is kid-friendly. Our little foodie enjoyed a plate of penne with meatballs with mango juice as her main course, and vanilla and chocolate gelato served with a side of fruit for dessert.

We highly recommend trying Table 104’s brunch. For $19.95 you can enjoy a two-course brunch, and for an additional $14, you can have bottomless Bellinis and mimosas. If the weather is nice, snag a table outside.
