Seafood at Its Best at The Sea Fire Grill NYC

Seafood Sampler

Looking for a restaurant that serves excellent seafood dishes in NYC? Check out The Sea Fire Grill in Midtown. The cousin of Benjamin Steakhouse opened in 2012 and has been firing up dishes to satisfy both seafood and meat lovers. If you’ve been to Benjamin’s, you can expect the same level of service and quality of food.

During our recent visit, we stopped by the bar to taste some of their specialty cocktails before dinner. We tried the Citrus Violation, a delicious concoction of Grey Goose Le Citron vodka, yuzu juice, lemon and lime. The Love Potion 2 & 1/3 is another great drink made with Grey Goose La Poire vodka, lychee, and passion fruit nectars. The bar menu also features a daily selection of east and west coast oysters, diver scallop ceviche, fish tacos, and a lobster roll trio, to name a few.

Cocktail in hand we walked through the contemporary restaurant, admiring the wall of bubbles, then were seated in the main dining room.

On the menu are classic raw bar items, delicious seafood entrees and juicy meats. To start your meal we recommend ordering a Seafood Sampler which includes fresh oysters from across the nation, succulent shrimp and rich lobster.

Off the appetizer menu, we tried the Pan Roasted Scallops with celery root puree and Caviar Beurre Blanc and the Madagascar Garlic Prawns.

Among the entrée offerings is Roasted Nova Scotia Halibut with Beurre Blanc and crisp asparagus; and #1 Yellowfin Tuna crusted with fennel seeds, coriander, star anise, and white and pink peppercorns which is seared and rested atop bok choy.

Side dishes to try are the Lobster Mac and Cheese and Spanish Risotto. The mac and cheese was remarkable. With big chunks of lobster and creamy pasta, you can indulge in every bite.

If you have room for dessert, try the Gala Apple Upside-Down Pie, made with a graham cracker and pecan crumble crust and served with cinnamon ice cream.

The experience at The Sea Fire Grill exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend dining here for any occasion – lunch or dinner. Though we haven’t tried the steak, diners at a neighboring table did and it looked delicious.
