During our recent trip to Newport, Rhode Island, we planned to get sandwiches at a deli and eat them on one of the mansion lawns. During the drive down, we discovered Peaceable Market via Patch.com. It was ranked as the Readers’ Choice for best sandwich.
Peaceable Market is a cute spot about 1/2 mile away from the busy downtown area. The menu was simple – sandwiches both hot and cold. We grabbed a big bag of Cape Cod chips and were on our way.
Our picks:
Red Onion – Smoked turkey, red onion, granny smith apple, bacon, cheddar cheese and mayo on 7-grain bread heated to perfection.
Monsoon (shown right) – Roast beef, cucumbers, red onion, havarti cheese and a wasabi cucumber dressing.
Peaceable is also open for breakfast. The next time we’re around, we’ll try the S.O.S. breakfast sandwich.
