Yogurt Culture Company opens in NYC

I’ve got a new favorite spot for all things yogurt: Yogurt Culture Company which recently opened its doors across from Grand Central Terminal.

Yogurt Culture Company crafts their yogurt with premium ingredients sourced from Hudson Valley’s Battenkill Valley Creamery, a 100-plus-year-old family-owned dairy farm producing fresh milk that’s hormone-free.

At the Yogurt Bar, you can create design a yogurt cup, or parfait. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Select a plain yogurt, made with 100% natural whole or skim milk, in Traditional or Greek.
  2. Choose a 100% natural fruit flavoring, or keep it plain. Have them churn it by hand for you!
  3. Top your yogurt with organic, natural or fun goodies.

If you’d rather drink your yogurt, they can also make a smoothie for you with either plain or Greek Yogurt. With a choice of up to 8 fruits, you can whip up some interesting concoctions. I tried a plain yogurt smoothie with mango, banana, and honey. At the first sip, I was hooked.

I also tried the chocolate frozen yogurt, a delicious treat for a hot summer day. The frozen yogurt is made in Portland, Oregon and is available in other flavors including vanilla, dulce de leche, Greek and the flavor of the day.

Yogurt Culture Company also sells more than yogurt. They sell salads, sandwiches, and fresh-pressed juices. Be sure to try their baked goods. If you like chocolate, try their chocolate yogurt muffin. It’s moist, chocolatey, and decadent.

They’re open on weekdays for breakfast from 7am until 7pm, and on weekends 8am to 7pm, so be sure to stop by for a healthy breakfast, lunch, or snack. Unsure of what to get? Ask for a sample.
