Behind the Scenes: Cortina Pizzeria Napoletana in Bridgeport

Chef and founder Pasquale Pascarella is expanding Pizzeria Rosso to two new locations this Spring: Bridgeport and Greenwich. On April 9th, the Bridgeport location opens with a new name: Cortina Pizzeria Napoletana. The Greenwich location is slated to open in June.

We stopped by the pizzeria to see what Pat was up to and to check out the new spot. Everyone was focused on prep for the opening. From slicing fresh mozzarella to crumbling cooked sausage to making Italian salad dressing. And the pizza dough? They’re resting and will be ready for Monday.

Similar to the Norwalk location, Cortina’s menu features Napoletana-style pizza, along with traditional new world and old world style pizzas, wedges, panini and salad.

If you’re dining here for the first time, be sure to try our favorite pies: the Hogan, a pie made with prosciutto, fig, arugula, and ricotta, and the Siciliano, laced with soppresata, cherry peppers and provolone.

There will also be catering service. So if you’ve got any parties planned, be sure to have Pat cater the event.
