Tim’s Philly Steaks in Norwalk

A good Philly cheesesteak sandwich is hard to find, outside of Philadelphia. Campo’s Deli is probably our favorite. It’s not often when we’re in Philly, but boy, do we get cravings for a good cheesesteak. Fortunately, we don’t have to trek so far, now that Tim’s Philly Steaks is open in Norwalk, CT.

On the menu: various steak sandwiches made with Ribeye, chicken, pork, or veggies, a couple hoagies, and a bunch of sides. The sandwiches come in four sizes: 6″, 8″, 12″ and 16″ and you can choose from a several free toppings: fried onions, raw onions, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. The extras include bacon, mushrooms, cheese, and, if you must, extra meat.

We tried a 16″ Cheese Steak with Provolone (sorry, we’re not a fan of Whiz) and raw onions. Delicious. The meat was flavorful, and shaved paper thin, as how it’s supposed to be. The bread, an important part of the sandwich, had a light crust, and was not too thick. Tim’s fries are good, but the onion rings are way better with a crunchy batter.

Tip: When you’re in the restaurant, text steaks to 57711 and you’ll get a free fountain drink with any sandwich purchase.

Tim’s Philly Steaks is open seven days a week from 10:30am to 9pm. Don’t get discouraged when it’s packed. If there’s a long line, and all the tables are taken, you’ll get a table by the time your order is ready.
