Méli-Mélo of Greenwich

The Parisian crêperie Méli-Mélo serves a variety crêpes (about 49 different kinds – both savory and sweet), sandwiches, salads, a variety of soups, plus daily specials. Méli-Mélo also serves gluten & dairy free savory and sweet crepes. With a menu this big, and dishes that look so appetizing (from looking at other diners’ dishes), it’s hard to make a decision on what to order.

I’m a big fan of quiche, so we had to try one of the 4 on the menu: the spinach and cheese quiche. For $10.50, we were served a large slice of heaven and meslun dressed in Méli-Mélo’s homemade vinaigrette made with dijon mustard, corn oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper.

We absolutely loved the Jambon, fromage et oeuf bio (ham, Swiss cheese and egg) crépe. You can get the egg scrambled or sunny side up. Torn between the two choices, we opted for the scrambled egg. The crépe was served in a perfect square with crispy edges, and with the perfect combo of savory fillings.

To wash down the delicious food, we had one of their freshly made juices. Blueberry, pineapple, grapefruit was a treat: a little sweet; a little sour – a terrific combination.

Too full for dessert, we’ll have to stop by another time for their dessert – a selection of about 26 sweet crépes, sorbets, and ice cream.

Service is excellent. Food is excellent. And you can be in and out in under an hour. Depending on the time, be prepared to wait for a table.

Méli-Mélo is open 7 days a week until 10pm, 365 days a year.
