I discovered Scharffen Berger Chocolate at this year’s BlogHer Food Conference in Atlanta.
Scharffen Berger Chocolate Maker’s goal was to “create the richest, most flavorful chocolate by sourcing the best cacao in the world and using artisan chocolate-making methods. They are the first ‘bean-to-bar’ chocolate manufacturer established in the United States in the past 50 years.” And indeed, they are America’s Finest Dark Chocolate.
Scharffen Berger produces a variety of chocolate bars for baking and snacking. My favorite snacking chocolate is the 41% Cacao Extra Rich Milk Chocolate. Like what the description says, it’s extra rich, smooth, and creamy. A small piece is enough to keep a chocolate-lover satisfied, or maybe a couple.
One of the delicious baked treats I’ve tried made with Scharffen Berger is the Chocolate Cream Pie with Cinnamon & Ancho Chile (pictured, right). It was a delectable, heavenly piece of pie. The chocolate was rich and creamy with a hint of chile.
