Refreshing drinks at Argo Tea Café

A selection of tea, and products
available for purchase

I’ve been working in the Flatiron District for years, and always walked by Argo Tea Café with another beverage in hand saying to a friend, “One day we’ve gotta try this place.” Finally, yesterday, after a roundtrip walk to nearby Union Square’s Greenmarket, I stopped by for a refreshing iced tea. The signs of Mango Mattechino lured me in, and although it was on my mind, I wound up getting a MojiTea – a mojito-esque tea drink, sans the alcohol. The MojiTea was lightly sweetened with hints of mint and fresh lime juice – truly a refreshing summertime drink.

On the menu are a selection of teas that you can get hot or iced, like the MojiTea or a Hibiscus Apple Chiller, as well as SpecialTea Foods. I recommend getting one of their smaller sandwiches called the Teanie Panini which you can get either cold, or toasted. The Spinach Tomato Pesto Teanie Panini is a great treat. It’s a small panini made with baby spinach, roasted tomatoes, swiss and garlic & herb cheeses for only 250 calories (shown right).

Aside from sandwiches, they also sell an assortment of baked goods, like their tea bites, quiche, muffins, cookies, and French pastries.

Another perk: you get two hours of free internet with each purchase.

Argo Tea Café has locations in New York, Chicago, St. Louis, and Boston. Stop by for a refreshing drink, a nice alternative to Starbucks.
