NYC: Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur is closing

Sigh, I just found out one of my favorite restaurants in NYC is closing on Friday, July 1st – Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur in Grand Central Terminal. It’s going to be replaced with an Apple store. Here’s the email I received today.

Dear Metrazur Patrons,

As you may have heard, after 11 wonderful years in Grand Central Terminal, Charlie Palmer’s Metrazur will be closing after dinner service on Friday, July 1, 2011. On behalf of the restaurant’s management and staff, I would like to thank you for the fantastic support and patronage you have provided us all these years.

To honor the wonderful moments of Metrazur, we will be offering a special Farewell A La Carte Menu to guests (in place of our Lunch 27 and Dinner 49 menus), beginning Monday, June 27th through Friday, July 1st. This menu will feature our most popular dishes from the past years, including favorites such as the Roasted Heirloom Beet Salad, Crab Cake with Three Mustard Aioli, and “Ten Hour” Veal Pappardelle.

We hope to see you in the upcoming weeks before the closing!

For reservations, please call 212.687.460 or click here.

Also, please be sure to dine with us at Aureole, our flagship restaurant located just down the road at 135 West 42nd Street (at Broadway).

It has been, and always will be, our pleasure to serve you.

Sincerely,

Charlie Palmer
