Jones Family Farms in Shelton, CT

A glass of Strawberry Serenade
and fresh picked strawberries

Jones Family Farms is a 150-year old farm located in Shelton, CT. With summer here, you can do a variety of things: visit their farm and pick your own fruit, sample wines, or attend a cooking class.

Berry picking starts in June with strawberries, followed by blueberries in mid-July to late August. In the fall, you can pick your own pumpkins. While in the winter, you can walk through 200 acres of land to pick the perfect Christmas tree.

For adults, stop by the winery to sample a flight of 7 wines for $6.75. Connecticut Magazine in 2010 named the Jones Winery to have the Best Wine in Connecticut, so this is a must. If you have children with you, drop them off in the children’s play room while you sip and savor their assortment of wine. After you sample the wine, order a glass of your favorite blend, and have a seat outside on the patio while you take in the beautiful scenery. They also sell regional cheeses, crackers and other light fare to pair with your wine.

The Harvest Kitchen is a Farm-to-Table Cooking Studio that has classes for both adults and children. From preserving fruits to methods of preparing seafood to wine appreciation class, you’re bound to find something of interest. To view their class schedule, visit their website.

Jones Family Farms is comprised of three farm locations, all minutes away from each other in Shelton:
