Malaysia Kitchen for the World is presenting the second annual Malaysian Restaurant Week, a weeklong celebration of Malaysian cuisine June 13 through June 19, 2011.

As part of the event, Malaysian restaurants in New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut, will offer a special $20.11 prix fixe menu for the entire week. In addition to Malaysian restaurants, several high-profile pan-Asian restaurants and restaurants that serve Asian dishes will participate with a special Malaysian or Malaysian-inspired two-course menu.

If you’re in the Flatiron area of NYC, I recommend trying Laut. One of my favorite dishes there is the Sambal, and flavorful dish made with okra, eggplant, string beans, bell pepper, onion, spicy chili, shrimp paste sauce, and your choice of protein. Pork is my favorite.
