Austin, TX: Wahoo’s Fish Taco

Wahoo’s Fish Taco is an awesome taco spot in Downtown Austin. Cool atmosphere, but cramped seating. The menu offers pork, chicken, veggie, and fish tacos at reasonable prices. I thought I was in Hawaii for a moment based on what I saw on the menu: Kailua Pork, The “Kahuna,” and the Maui bowl, but no, I was still in Texas.

Just line up, order your meal at the cashier and they’ll bring your order to your table while you sit and look at all the stickers stuck on the walls of the entire restaurant.

I tried the Kailua Pork and Blackened Fish Taco Combo, served with a big portion of ahi rice and black beans. The Kailua Pork was delicious, and so was the blackened fish. The fish was fresh, and seasoned perfectly. It can be eaten alone, but I doused it up with hot sauce.

My friend enjoyed his vegetarian taco and enchilada. He says it was the best taco he’s had, and he loves tacos.

Tip: Check-in on foursquare and get a free order of chips and salsa.
