Rewind – What’s Foursquare? My definition is a location-based mobile game where you can “check-in” to various venues and obtain points, and potentially unlock badges that you can show off. Get the most check-ins at an establishment, and you become the mayor. Businesses have been hopping on the foursquare bandwagon and are offering special deals to users who check-in to their establishments, offering special discounts, or even freebies. Starbucks is an example. Back in May, they offered more than just their Barista badge, but $1 off frappucinos for foursquare Mayors.
