Boqueria

Boqueria is a small tapas bar in NYC’s Flatiron district, located at 53 West 19th Street. I managed to grab a table by the bar on a Saturday evening at 8pm. The restaurant was packed at this time, and to get a seat in the dining area would cost us a 30 minute wait. My boyfriend and I decided to order a couple of tapas and a round of rosé sangria. The rosé sangria was not made of the ingredients I thought it would have – Rosé wine and juices, but rather a concoction of a bunch of liquids mixed with tequila. The sangria was quite tasty, although a little watered down, but the tapas made up for it.

Tapas
Tortilla del Dia
Croquetas Cremosas: Setas, Bacalao y Cochinillo

Embutidos
Jamon Serrano (my favorite dish at Boqueria)
Salchichon
Sobrasada (kinda reminds me of corned beef in the can. You can pass on this.)

After munching and sipping for half an hour, we decided to pass on dining in the main area because it was too crowded and noisy…not the best place to sit down and unwind from a shopping trip. I’d recommend dining at an earlier time to beat the night crowd, unless you like being packed in like a can of sardines.
