Private Lingerie Event at Bloomies

Last night I went to Bloomies on 59th to buy perfume for a birthday present. I wandered around the store first – my usual routine – 2nd floor, then the 4th floor. I walked over to the lingerie dept. on the 4th floor and noticed they finally finished the renovating. I felt like I was in Saks. They had the lines I liked – Chantell, La Perla, Natori, etc. They had a private event, which I was not invited to, surprisingly. There were stations for eating small dishes of excellent food, and stations for wine tasting, manicures, massages, hand pampering, and more. I picked up a glass of Cordelier Brut (Bento Gonçalves, Brazil), an excellent sparkling wine:

This Brazilian Brut is made from the finest selection of Chardonnay grapes using the famed traditional fermentation method. Rich and complex, this sparkling wine exhibits mineral tones with hints of oak and vanilla. Drink now or let it mellow with age.

While sipping on this glass, I picked up a robe from Oscar de la Renta (I had a change of heart and decided not to get the perfume as a gift). Then I wandered off to the Natori section to pick up a dark nude colored convertible bra (Natori has the best convertible bras!). A sales associate approached me and told me the great promotions going on for the evening, and just picked up a bunch of items for me to try on (and buy). Long story short….I spent way more than I hoped – got free food, bought lingerie, got a free goodie bag worth over $250 and a free $50 gift card, oh, and another glass of wine, this time it was the Castro Brey Albariño (Rias Baixas, Spain):

Made of 100% of Castro Brey’s finest Albariño grapes. A pleasing aroma of peach and apricot with hints of flowers arise from this medium-bodied white wine. Soft textures complement a light fruity flavor that concludes with a delectable, fresh, zesty finish.

The wine was excellent…not too fruity…just right. Although the sales associate was way to pushy and had an attitude, I had a good time. I wouldn’t give her business again.

Note: Above wine descriptions were taken from the Wine List distributed at the wine station.
