Out to Sea

My colleagues and I went to lunch at Spring Street Natural (per my suggestion). The last time I went, I ordered the Free Range Chicken entree. This time, I wanted to get something on the lighter side, but I was craving some fries. I ordered the Free Range Chicken sandwich which came with fries, and a Iced Herbal Tea. Excellent! Satisfied my cravings, and was quite filling. I also tasted a bit of my friend’s Turkey Burger, and it was just as good, but not as good as my dish.

After work, my best friend, her boyfriend and his cousin (big crowd) went out to Williamsburg. We stopped by a wine shop called Uva. I was told the difference between a Petite Syrah and a Syrah. I couldn’t taste the difference, and after researching this online and using my Wine Bible, I needed a real answer. It’s all in the grape. Just as I thought, it’s all in the grape. Not much of a difference in taste. Petite syrah is from California, so it’s a term Californians use. To recap, read my old post.

Afterwards we walked to Sea, a Thai restaurant in Williamsburg. Ambiance – great. Food – excellent. I ordered the Crispy Duck Salad ($5) for starters and the Beef Green Curry ($7) for the main course, and paired them with a Singha. The taste of the duck salad was amazing – the flavors danced in my mouth. I would actually think it was dark meat from pork, rather than duck. It was not fatty and cooked with the right amount of spice, and amazingly, sweetness from the pineapple it was cooked with. The curry dish – excellent! I still think that Benny’s Thai Cafe in the financial district is better. I took a quick look at the website and whaddya know – Cafe Spice on University Place is part of this chain. Funny thing is I wanted to eat there last night. This restaurant is highly recommended, especially for those on a budget.
